Blood "thickness" question

Dear very smart people on this group:

Sometimes when I prick my finger to check bg level, the blood is very
thin...like water. Other times it's thick, like oil or syrup. I've
noticed absolutely no relationship between thick or thin and bg reading.
(sometimes thin and high, sometimes thick and high; same for thick/low &
thin/low.) Just wondered if anyone else notices this and what it means,
if anything.
Thanks for reading my post.
