Good luck! I take Novolog. That and the Lantus are both pens. My Dr.
mentioned adding Symlin so I would have to inject less insulin. But that
too is an injection. :( Soon we'll both be pincushions.

The nurse had the doctor put me on Humalog along with Lantus in the
pens. A much more pleasant way to inject. I'm sure happy that our
insurance pays for most of it. The 2 kinds of pens, the test strips,
and the pen needles cost me $100.00. It would have been a whole lot
more if we didn't have the insurance to cover most of it.

Wow. Mine covers 30 days worth of insulin at a time. Dr. wrote me today
and I am supposed to up my Lantus to 60 and increase my morning Novolog by 2
units. Grrrr... So much to remember!

I was so overloaded with new information by last night. If I hadn't
had notes telling just what to do I would have had no idea how much of
each to inject nor how often. Also the nurse wants seven tests per day
for awhile.

I forward these statistics with the greatest degree of respect for those who have given the ultimate price.

On July 25, 2008 the total of Americans killed in Iraq was 4124.
United Kingdom = 176
Other = 138

Even one death including Iraqis is too many.
