Re: Problem with Lancet

I just got the FreeStyle Freedom Lite monitor. It is
supposed to need very little blood.

I used the lancet at #1, then #2. I used it on the pad of
my two middle fingers. I couldn't get a large enough drop
of blood to get a reading. So then I used it on #3, which
is pretty deep and I believe is supposed to be used for
other parts of the body. Then I got enough blood but my
fingers are sore.

Am I doing something wrong? Are their lancets particularly
hard to use?

Is there a trick?

Hi Louise,

I'm not familiar with that meter, but I believe the lancets are all pretty
similar. You should generally use the sides of your fingertips for sticking
sites. More nerves are present in the center of fingertips, so lancing in
this location may bring more pain for the same penetration.
