: As you bring your BGs down to within normal limits, you may find you
: can increase carbs at lunch or dinner. Even after a year since Dx, I
: cannot tolerate carbs for breakfast. Dinner, I can usually eat more
: carbs, say 35-45 without going over 120 at 1 or 2 hours.

: So based on your gc responses, I would assume that you would never eat
: cereal for breakfast??? No big deal, I'm just curious. In my case,
eating
: breakfast is a "whole new thing" anyway. That was usually limited to a
: weekend event for me, and I find it VERY difficult to eat so early,
: however... I'm adjusting.

I used to be able to eat old fshioned, not instant, oameal , unsweetened,
wih only a tiny bit of milk(1-2 Tbs) when I was in a poition to walk
quite
soon after breakfast. NOw that walking is a probem dues to sciatica,
etc.
I ccannot eat it now and find two dectent breakfasts for me. One, and
the
bst is 1/3-1/2 C cottage cheese, 3 or 4 different fruits and berries in
SMALL amounts like 1-3 strawberries, a handful of blue, black or
rasp-berries, 1/4 a moderate apple, 1/2 a clementine(small) orange, 1/5
-1/6 of a mango, 4-6 fresh cherries. I top this wth either plain
yougurt
or sour cream adn have it with my black coffee. My other breakfast is 2
eggs or equivalent in egg ubstitute, 2 Wasa or Ryevita, whole grain rye
crackers with some of my no-sugar added home made fruit jam adn the
black
coffee. I might have a bit of cream cheese, omega 3 margarine etc on
tthose crackers(thy=ey are quite large crackers, not like triscits, etc.

Have you ever tested at say, 30,60.90,120 to see if you spike?
I'm planning to do that once I get within range. I wonder what numbers
would still be considered acceptable, assuming you're within range in two
hours.
Willy
We shoot for 140 or less at one hour, and 120 or less at two hours.
Has anyone given you this site:

Here's another with great information.
