Mom suggested I take Vit D for my diabetes (I'm type 2). She takes LARGE
doses of vitamins and minerals. Most of which I've never heard of :o I
realize the medical profession and the natural community don't see eye to
eye on anything when it comes to natural supplements. So the answers are
going to vary greatly. I realize that. I've been taking the 1000 IUs of
Vit D for about 3 months when mom mentioned I should be taking D3...I never
knew there was a D3 <lol> Am I deficient in it? I'm sure that would depend
on who you ask...a medical Dr or someone who treats using natural products.
Probably am. I'm not an outdoors person, have MS and diabetes but dairy is
a big part of my diet. What little I've read about Vit D and diabetes is
that it's looked at as a possible preventative. Is it supposed to help if
you have diabetes?
Thanks.

Does anyone here know how much Vit D I should be taking.
Thanks
No, it's not toxic, though unless you're deficient, you wouldn't want or
need to take it long term. 50,000 iu once per week of D3 is the dose for
deficiency. For routine health maintenance, at least 2000 - 2500 iu per
day should be completely safe.
