Did your doctor prescribe Tricor for the trigs? Just reminded me of 5
years ago with one blood draw I had: Trigs 1330, and fasting blood
glucose: 700. Doc immediately prescribed Tricor. I was fortunate in
that I did get my trigs back down to 75 without any meds.
Lerp that was brilliant getting your triglycerides down from 1330 to
75. Quite incredible really. So many would have thought if ever
there was a case for drugs you'd be it.
What do you credit as contributing most to your success?

Honestly, I say it was eliminating greasy foods from my diet and LOTS
OF LUCK. I am guessing my arteries are still in great shape since my
diabetes was caught very early and the high trigs were reversible. I
took the TriCor for 2 years though. I know that I am prone to high
Trigs in the future and therefore I am careful. This is the only time
I have ever outsmarted my doctor :-)
Lerp. I seldom have comprehension problems. However on this occasion
I know I'm confused. Earlier on you say you reduced the triglycerides
without meds from 1330 to 75. Later on you say you took TriCor for 2
years, Was this after you had reduced the triglycerides or is there
some reason I'm not aware of for not including TriCor as a med.
Help. I'm simply interested in how others achieve success.
Best wishes,

When I started out, I was at over 1300. Then I took TriCor for 2 years
and continued eating badly while I took it. Then I changed my diet,
and quit taking TriCor without telling my doctor. My doctor chastised
me and ran bloodwork to prove I needed the TriCor. He did that 2 more
times and I still came in perfect. I am extremely fortunate because
usually high trigs are for a lifetime. I may have worded it wrong,
sorry.

No, high trigs aren't for a lifetime unless one doesn't change their
lifestyle. IME trigs are the easiest numbers to manipulate.- Hide quoted text -

You may be right, I don't know. The doctor and pharmacyst both told me
that Tricor is for life. In fact, my doctor did not even let me finish
my sentence when I asked him how long I would be on TriCor. He just
blurted out "LIFE". However, I was determined to not be taking no 5
pills per day at the age of 39. I took the 5 meds per day for about
one month. I don't plan on taking 5 pills per day again until I am in
my 60's.
