I'd like to know just how the duodenum is producing insulin resistant
hormones or fowling the pancreas. Maybe they could just cut the nerves to
it to cause the same thing. I hope they do some good research in this
area.
I posted this in Januari already :
The susprising fact is that there exist an operation that remodels your
gastrointestinal tract in such a way that it now fits normally around the
right amount of food you need to provide you with all the nutrients and
energy !!!
Your "super sized" stomag is carefully reduced to it normal dimension. It
will now resume its normal function. This is NOT a crude AMPUTATION !!! You
will not be hungry all the time.
It is NOT the AMOUNT of food it is the fact that the right amount of food
now makes contact with your gastrointestinal tract and thus signals your
brain that YOU HAVE EATEN ENOUGH !!!
Here is a free article :
http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/reprint/91/5/1735
Results: Before surgery, meal ingestion failed to stimulate GLP-1 and PYY
secretion. Six weeks after surgery, despite subjects still being markedly
obese the area under the curve of GLP-1 and of PYY in response to the
standardized testmeal were significantly elevated
What about those of us who are NOT obese and do NOT eat too much? I was
told by the dietician I was not eating enough. I had to add another meal
into my diet. I've done it but not happily. Eating has become a chore
again because if I manage to eat lunch, then I am not hungry for dinner. So
far I have not gained any weight. Or lost any...
