Diabetes is cured by gastric bypass surgery. Cancer is cut by 50%. Cholesterol levels return to normal and mediation is no longer needed. High blood pressure is cured too, most can go off medication.

A lab experiment was done in France where lab rats were bypassed and their diabetes disappeared. The operation was reversed and the diabetes came back. I'd like to know why this is. They didn't say.

Amazing!

Just because it's on there doesn't make it true. And keep in mind that many of us type 2s might be some overweight, but not enough overweight to warrant the surgery. So it's not a cure. And even if we are that fat and it works for us, I still don't think it's a cure. Because if we go back to our old way of eating, it will come back.
No no, my son, it also cures diabetes in thin people. I think the gist of the article is that the disconnection of the duodenum was the factor and not the eating habits.

Yes, exactly what they discovered. At the present time it is not done excepting on obese people here in the USA, but they are performing the surgery in Brazil on normal weight and thin people strictly for the purpose of reversing diabetes.

Results will follow hopefully. I would guess they probably don't need to do the stomach size reduction in thin people, only just the bypass of the duodenum. That is purely guesswork..... but I'd like to know more about it. The segment was too short IMO.

I'd like to know just how the duodenum is producing insulin resistant hormones or fowling the pancreas. Maybe they could just cut the nerves to it to cause the same thing. I hope they do some good research in this area.
