us to use. I haven't a clue what Facebook is and/or whether it would

I haven't used it, but I've seen it (and MySpace).
Can anyone tell me anything good OR bad (besides
loads of graphics) on either service that you can't
get in e-mail and Usenet?
I got onto MySpace over a year ago, or more, and never did anything with it.
Now, an old friend has begun a group over there & a blog (common interest)
so I have logged back in there a little bit very recently because of it. I
still find it user unfriendly.
I was leery of Facebook because of my experience with MySpace. But, a friend
sent me an invitation to it & my partner tried it & liked it (so far). So, I
joined it & liked it (so far). That was in the fall. We're both still on
there & still enjoy it. I suggested it to Quention specifically because of
his problems with email. For example I can email him but he can't get an
email through to me because of comcast. I've considered emailing him a few
times & haven't - because why push the frustration level of a one way
conversation? That's not even conversation! <G> That would be a monologue.
So, continuing the example, I'm on Facebook. If he joined Facebook & we
became Facebook Friends we could send messages back & forth to each other
without any impediment.
I could also send him cyber hugs, coffee, stuffed animals & play Scrabulous
with him. I'm sure that a bunch of what is on Facebook might seem silly to
people, time-wasting, etc. but it also can enable a spirit of staying in
contact with each other. And, anyone can begin a Group, or join an already
existing Group, regarding common interests. We could have a Quentin Group.
Or a Quentin's book Group.
Things like this are naturally hard to describe. Does this help?
Do you know if it really is a resource hog?
