I don't know if anyone has told you yet but the dose of insulin has to be fine tuned. The doctors or whoever starts at a certain point and then they start to fine tune with very small adjustments, one or two units at a time, it takes a little time to do this, there is no magic dose it's different for everyone. It took about 3 months to fine tune my dose. As you adjust food and carbs the numbers improve. It's also important to remember that most medical people helping you to adjust insulin are striving for *NO HYPOS* so tiny adjustments only.
