Negative effects of exercise?

Is it posisble for exercise, in this case walking/treadmill, to cause
BGs to actually increase? I had slacked off for several weeks, and
started back up again last week, and my BGs are suddenly routinely
20-30 pts higher than normal. My eating is the same and I'm not ill.
I can't think of any other potential factors.
