In the UK if you give a company permission to access your records,
that means you give it permission to ask your doc. Your doc then
checks with you when getting the request to see if you want them to
have the details requested. You can ask for some or all of them to be
held back as you wish. You also thereby discover whether the company
did ask for the details, and when.
This seems to me to be the right way to handle it.

Hi Chris,
I agree! Health insurance is becoming non-existent for the people
here in the US who really need it--until they reach 65. Something's
got to give. Over half the bankruptcies involving private individuals
are due to catastrophic illness and horrendous medical bills.
