Um lerp your post is archieved you claimed you didnt test at all which was
what the debate was about..the need to test..gantlet claimed you could eat
anythign and not test as long as you exercised and kurt simply said to never
listen to alan on anything ...
The fact you repeated the meal and DID test at one hours a good thing and
all that was recomended to you in which you took offense.

I was wrong.
It's sad Reisa, because when you aren't in this persona I
like you and sympathise with your problems. But those times
seem few and far between these days.
Ya know Alan, to me, the sign of a decent, intelligent person is the
ability
to admit when you are wrong. God knows I don't know everything there
is to
know, but I do my utmost to be as helpful as I can, and treat people
the
way
I want to be treated. I try to be as nice as I possibly can, but
that does
not mean that I am anybody's whipping boy. All of us have problems
here,
but
the vast majority of us do not allow that to spill over in the way
we
treat
people, so she has no justification whatsoever for the way she acts.
Looking
back on some of my posts over the years, I'm at least man enough to
admit
that I said some stupid ***. Why can't she step up, and do the same
thing?
I got attacked by her while you were on walkabout over a stupid
assed
typo.
I'm sorry that she has problems, I truly am, but again, that in no
way
justifies her treating me, or anyone else like crap. Because of
this, any
credibility she may have had, even if her replies/posts HAVE merit,
are
looked upon with great skepticism at best or more commonly at this
point
with derision as lunacy. She has, for lack of a better term,
achieved
Chungian status.
Hell, I for one would even be willing to let bygones be bygones if
she
would
just act like a decent person, and admit she is wrong. I am sure
everyone
here would do the same.
Hi DS and any others involved in this rk/kurt/tom vs "the
rest" thing.
I feel it's time to move on and ignore the trio, except to
factually and unemotionally counter any incorrect comments
to newbies.
That's my own intention. Of course, you are all free to do
as you wish.
Best wishes, Alan, T2, Australia.

Well, you and Alan sure took issue with my binge a while back; an
occasion
I took my wife out and left my diabetes at home. And I then stated I
was shocked
to get a 106 read at two hours. You guys couldn't accept the fact I
did not spike
and you two just knew I spiked. Another know it all diabetic posted
that my 106
at two hours was a bad number, and another said I wasted a test
strip.
Thanks for the helpful posts
I remember that exchange as it is typical of what I've seen go on in
here over the 6 + years I've been here. Someone is told how they
should control their diabetes by the mobspeakers in here and when they
disagree all hell breaks loose. As much as YMMV is said to be the
rule of the day it's more like YMBBLO (Your Mileage Better Be Like
Ours). You won't get any helpful posts if you do not toe the line,
Mister! :)
Alan is the leader of the pack here and don't cross him or you will be
labeled a troll like I was in a post today. It is his usual m.o. with
me... he'll attack me in a post then when I respond he becomes hurt
and lashes out. This time he took it a step further and is now
actively rallying the troops to ignore me. Why does he feel the need
to tell others who they should or shouldn't read? Can't they make
that decision for themselves. If someone feels that I, or anyone
else, is a troll then they will do that all on their own, or do like
DS does and write 100 whining posts because rk hurt his feelings
once,
In the years I've been here, I can safely say that there is only a
vocal few who I disagree with on just about everything. Like any
newsgroup there is always a small cabal like that that try to run the
group "their way or the highway." In the real world of diabetes, they
would be a very very very small miniority with their wacky ideas. But
here they rule the day and anyone who disagrees better watch out. I
have witnessed time and time again newbies that come and treated
poorly after they refuse to let the group diagnose and treat their
diabetes. Why do you think with a disease as serious as diabetes and
the amount of people with computers that there are only about a dozen
or so active members here. I learn things from the more moderate,
helpful, and realistic people who post here. But from the vocal few
who want to dominate this place I will continue to offer an alternate
viewpoint and encourage people to decide for themselves.

I ate a comparable meal they attacked and I tested as Alan recomends.
I still did not spike at 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours.
I wasted 2 good test strips using Alan's methods. As for the other
person saying 106 at 2 hours is high...I have not seen that to be the
case on any Web Site. The AACE says under 140, The ADA says under 180.
For me, I want to be between 100 and 120.
As for the ADA bashing: I don't like to do that. However, I don't get
my advice from there. I get my advice from my doctor.- Hide quoted text -

Here is the exact quote in which I did state I tested.
"A few weeks ago I ate a big hamburger and a plate full of freshly
made
french fries. I figured I was making a big mistake by killing all the
fries on my plate and then eating a few that were my wife's. I
dreaded
the 2 hour test and behold, I was shocked to see my sugar level at
106. To maintain those numbers I think I should go to that restaurant
and repeat this meal 3 times per day."
