Omega 3 fish oils and testing strips

Report on TV last night: Omega 3 fish oils may be bad for you, if not dangerous. (Just like Vitamin E and dozens of other turn-arounds).
Re testing strips. I am careful to not fish the narrow strips out of their canister with damp fingers having just washed my hands .
Damp hands could alter a reading significantly. Also, the towel you are using : is it clean or does it possibly have oil, lotion residue? etc. that could be transferred to your fingers? I have been using alcohol cleaning pads but have decided that the residue could affect the bg readings so have stopped doing that.
Just a couple of thoughts.
