Different labs have different reference ranges, and sometimes the
difference in reference ranges can be as much as 1.0. There are two
Labcorp labs in my area, one has a reference range of 4.2 to 5.3 and
the other has a reference range of 4.9 to 5.9.
So, unless you know the reference range, the number after the decimal
point in your A1C's doesn't have a lot of deep meaning.
Which is why my Endo. doesn't pay much mind to that other lab.
