Hi Folks,Congratulations David.
I am a regular reader but seldom post. Just thought I would share the
results of lifestyle changes I instituted about six weeks ago.
I was diagnosed T2 in 1999 with an A1C of 8.7. Since then through diet
exercise and weight loss I have regularly been around 5.6.
Six weeks ago I changed my diet by eliminating all alcohol (mainly wine
and
spirits before) , dairy(mainly ate hard cheeses before), diet sodas, and
caffeine. I now drink only water and herbal teas.
I test regularly before and 2hrs after meals. Before this change my BG
average was ~100.
Nothing much happened for about 2 weeks after I made the change, but
then
for the last 4 weeks my testing results average has dropped by 10% to 90
and
under, as low as 88 at one point. Before meals many times now I am as low
as
80.
I don't know exactly what it was but I suspect the wine and diet sodas
were
a large part of it.
Any comments appreciated.
Thanks.....

I honestly don't know why you improved, but as wine is a
staple part of my regimen and I drink a couple of glasses of
diet soft drink most days, I hope it was something
completely different:-)
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Short time results seems to be of little value in
getting real answers. There are too many
variables. Is seems to be the source of many
of the faulty theories. As of today you
have a lifetime disease.
It is best to take a slow approach in
finding answers.
Hi Guys
I am well aware that there is no cure for diabetes -only control.
Certainly if I eat the simple refined carbs my BG skyrockets like anyone
else in the club.
Just thought I would share what I perceived to be something incredible from
such a change. Will keep you updated.
Later...
