But the nationwide trend toward more high-fat food and less high-

in some communities, especially those with large Latino populations,
sparking what pediatrician Jane Lynch of the Texas Diabetes Institute
calls a "very scary, very alarming" epidemic of type 2 diabetes in
children.
poor kids probably have bacon and eggs everyday :(. this trend will
continue with all
the high fat foods out there :). too many calories then eating all that
fat
makes you lazy.
Sorry to spoil your preconceptions and those of the article
writer with facts Tom, but for kids where you live, in the
2-11 age group, these were the numbers in 2001-2002 for
those who eat breakfast (too many don't):
Source:
Breakfast in America, 2001-2002
http://www.ars.usda.gov/SP2UserFiles/Place/12355000/pdf/Breakfast_2001_2002.pdf
Breakfast Foods:
Ready to eat cereals: 47%
Breads, bagels, rolls or English Muffins: 20%
Eggs: 13%
Fruits: 10%
Breakfast Drinks:
Milk (as drink or on cereal): 70%
Coffee: 1%
100% Fruit Juice: 21%
Soda (76% Sugared, 24% diet): 3%
Not much bacon there, nor much fat of any kind. Maybe some
on their bagel or muffins. And an overwhelming proportion of
carbs and sugars.
not much bacon or fat only goes to show they asked the wrong people.
But, but, but...
This was the USDA, the people who bring you the fabulous
food pyramid. You're not suggesting that they may be
incorrect?
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.
d&e, metformin 1500mg, ezetrol 10mg
