for his service and extreme sacrifice. I think only people like him
have
earned the right to say, "Happy Veterans' Day." Those who have only
reaped
the rewards of their sacrifice should find no solace in saying,
"Happy
Veterans' Day," as they know not of what they speak.

Only reason I wasn't flying Blackhawks in Gulf I, was I had my ankle
destroyed playing football. My family doesn't find joy so much, as it
does pride, duty, and honor at having served our country.

DS I totally agree with your family's perspectives, salute your relatives
(and all others) who have served and sacrificed, and you, for your
remembrance of them and your unfullfilled desire to serve.

Nick. Support severely wounded and disabled Veterans and their families!
I've known US vets who served as far back as the Spanish American War.
They
are all my heroes! Thank a Veteran and Support Our Troops. You are not
forgotten. Thanks ! ! ~Semper Fi~

As your sig notes the Marine Corp motto, it might interest you that my uncle
that was on "The Canal" served in the 1st Division directly under Archer
Vandegrift. He also met Chesty Puller, and "Red Mike" Edson. His whole
platoon, with the exception of him, was ambushed and wiped out during a
patrol in a precursor to the Battle of the Tenaru.
