From what i gather your nerves are finally able to get to work repairing thedamage done now that your under control.
Sorta like you cant fix the pipes in a flooded basment until the waters shut
off and drained..so too your body cant fix itself while your bg was high.
Once the nerves repair the connections they fire off which is painful...as
long as you keep under control it should repair itself..many take primrose
oil etc to help with the healing.

Hi guys,
I remember reading here a short while ago about how quite a few of you had
developed "symptoms" and/or complications of diabetes, AFTER dx.
I'm aware that many of us had experienced hypoglycaemic episodes for many
years before diagnosis but nothing else untoward. But, again, it was only
AFTER dx that we developed the likes of neuropathy (pain in toes, plantar
of foot, etc).
I was diagnosed in August and had chronic tiredness for approximately 8
months leading up to dx, constant chornic thirst and the urge to stuff my
face through the day.
On dx, I have combatted the tiredness, thirst and bingeing - my bg is
rarely above 7.0 (126) at the 1 hour test (most of the time its around 5.6
(100.8) and I actually got it down to 4.1 (73.8) after a 20 min medium
speed on the treadmill the other day!
But, I have been having painful twinges in my feet. It started about 3
weeks ago, with a stabbing pain in my right big toe and now I am getting
the odd *pulsating* stabbing pain in the planter of my left foot.
*If* these are symptoms of neuropathy - why should I only now be getting
it; if my diabetes was hanging around for so long before dx and now with
the good control I have?!!
Can anyone comment, please! :)))
