Congress, Bush has suddenly become very conservative in spending. He was
very generous when the Republicans were in control and spent money like
drunken sailors, running up a huge deficit, but now he can claim that the
Democrats are spending too much and that he's holding the line.

He did the same for children's insurance and a host of other items. The
Congress has overridden one of his vetoes. Let us hope for more overrides,
especially when it comes to health.


Totally different kinds of funding, though!


On what planet? There is only one source of funding: you, me, and all
our
fellow-taxpayers. With the very minor exception of import duties,
essentially
the entire 3+ *Trillion* dollars the Fed will spend this fiscal year
comes from
taxation - which *we* pay.
