After all we went through with Ashton's birth, my being in the hospital at
the time, his being flowwwwwn away in the big plane, and my finally
getting to see him, it was with tremendous joy that he came to spend last
Friday night with me, not going home until about noon Saturday (treating
me with royalty in the meantime). Ashley and Ashton came over around
noon; we went to Wal-Mart for odds 'n ends late afternoon, then went to
eat Chinese (across the interstate from WM) after we'd spent all the money
Jim had.... ha ha ;-). They took me home to make room for Ashton's
bassinet. Then comes my big boy (he's over 10 lbs now). Ashley fixes
everything beside my bed, including his bathtub, and he takes a nice warm
bath here, which he doesn't care for nearly as much as I would. *s* Oh,
does he smell all sweet, and feel so soft when mommy finishes with him,
and hands him to me. Hey! There is something to this great-grandmother
stuff, and being confined (but there is give 'n take on both sides ;).
She took some pix of him and me just talking away, and I'll get them
uploaded when I remember how to do it again.

Those two went home about noon; I got to feed him his bottle just before
they left. A sweet farewell, and looking forward to the next visit
whether here or at their house (yeah, I'm feeling that good I think ;), or
maybe a walk around the block or so before it gets too cold for me. *s*

I bet I was asleep before they even got to their house, one block away,
and oh, did I ever sleep. Didn't lose any sleep over Ashton, he was
really good. It was just the activity, and it was an MG restorative
sleep. Jim didn't wake me - thank goodness!! LOL

So. That was my weekend to top all weekends!
(Jennifer called while they were here, so I felt connected to all my great
children, and only had one grand who wasn't around.)

Billie
