This is my first time to post, I have just recently subscribed to
newsgroups. I have Type 2, I just checked by BG and it is 261. I have
been so tired and have slept so much in the last month. Could have been
out working in my yard but have been too tired. Have been trying to be
careful about my eating but am so depressed because it seems there's
hardly anything I can eat but green beans, asparagus, cabbage. I drink
diet drinks occasionally and Milo's tea with splenda. Anything sweet has
a laxative effect and makes me stay in the bathroom all the time so I quit
eating sugarfree things. I take 2 different kinds of blood pressure
medicine and cholesterol meds, 1000mg of metformin everyday. I am so
tired of paying so much for meds, the tricor (cholesterol) is over $150.00
a month by itself. Since last night, I have read hundreds of things
regarding percentages grams, carbs, sugars, starches, fats (good & bad).
It all gets so confusing!

I have been reading posts from this support site since last night and it
seems that you all care about and support each other and I very much would
like to be a part of your group. Thank you for listening to me have a
"pity party". Would love to hear from someone who's going through the
same.

Donna

I'm in Alabama too. Welcome to the group.- Hide quoted text -

HI Donna,
I am new here also. The people on here have been so supportive and
have offered great advice. I am 36, not overweight, but when I got
back my blood work, my cholesterol was double what it should be, my
blood pressure was 146/110 and added diabetes in the mix - I found all
this out on the same day about two months ago. They started me on
blood pressure medicine and it made me tired for a while, but I seem
to be adjusting to it. As for the cholesterol, no idea what do to
with that one. As for the diabetes, it is depressing and scary at
first. Today is the first day since I was diagnosed that I have made
up my mind to eat right and start to exercise. It has taken me two
months to get serious about this and I hope I can. Everyone on here
is great so ask for advice and they will give it! :) Please don't be
afraid to bitch, everyone needs to some times!
