There are no nutrient rich grains, as compared to veggies and fruits.
Wrong.
Whole grain brown rice provides 15 essential nutrients, including
dietary fiber, B vitamins and folate, Vitamin E, minerals, potassium
and it's also a good source of antioxidants and phytonutrients
Are you comparing it to a soft drink?
Sure, Jim, that's exactly what I'm doing. LOL
Try broccoli, chard, etc. We all know
there are nutrients in whole grains. The issue is how to maximize good
nutrients while keeping calories low. I don't think whole grains score
very
well.
How low do you want your calorie intake to be? If you're an active
person surviving on just broccoli, chard, etc. you'd better buy them
by the bushel. What are you supplementing your veggies with? Fat,
protein, soft drinks?
All grains are calorie dense, though, with sparse nutrient content per
calorie.
Wrong.
As she said, as compared with veggies and fruits.
I eat lots of veggies and fruits and I eat some whole grains. I'm
also very active and couldn't survive, nor would I want to, on an
austere diet of only veggies and fruits. From reading here, many
posters don't eat much fruit, either.
Kurt
it is very simple.
a 200 carb a day low fat diet allows AT LEAST 130 grams a day of carbs from
fruits and veggies
Dr. Bernstein supports only 30 grams a day of carb - that's 100 carbs less a
day from fruits and veggies.
Atkins lol well - need i say more.
I love how they to make it seem like its whole grains vs. veggies when low
fat already allows for more
fruits and veggies. truth is its more like
Whole Grains + alot of fruits + a lot of veggies VS FAT and proteins.
this is why I distrust anyone that tries to make it seem like its whole
grains vs. veggies.
yes I do know that there are also those that just never looked into low fat.
and yet even tho low carb allows for a lesser amount of fruits and veggies -
i have nothing against
those that choose it as long as they know the truth and later tell the
truth.
