Wendy, are you referring to the diabetic exchanges? That's another different thing compared to serving sizes in the pyramid and actual portions people eat. For example, the food pyramid says 2 oz of meat is a serving, the exchange is 1 ounce, I most commonly actually eat a 4 oz portion.
It does start to seem easier to just say 4 oz (or 115 grams) instead of using all these different systems.
