I saw my Primary care doctor yesterday and she was very happy with my
progress, but wanted a new round of numbers. A1c, lipid panel, liver
enzymes and TSH. She told me to fast for 12 hours and she'd see me at 8:30
this morning.

Problem is, I had a poker game last night. I sat there sipping water
while my 6 animal buddies sucked down beers and pizza all night long. It
was pure torture even though when I eat pizza now, I limit myself to one
slice. The good part is that I kicked their butts and won $51.00 :o)

When I got home at midnight, I tested and was at 60. I only had a small
dinner and walked hard about 4 miles yesterday. I had about 2 ounces of
juice to treat the low and woke to a 75. I told the doc and she wasn't
concerned about the juice spoiling the fast.

How does everyone here treat a low when fasting for blood work?

Hi John,
I hope your blood work will come back in good order. If you are up to
sharing let us know your results.

I have them use a "butterfly" on me as if I don't they give me a bruise
the size of Gibraltar. This time I didn't bruise at all. They think big
lady big veins but I actually have very tiny ones and they always would
stick the needle clear through so now I won't let them us a regular one.

Best wishes and hope it goes well for you today.

Hi Diana and thanks. I think my numbers should be pretty good. I've really
been working hard at them.

My wife has a terrible time having blood drawn. They usually have to use a
pediatric needle on her and she usually has to get stuck multiple times. Me?
I'm like a gusher. The girl said she could probably close her eyes and hit
my veins. I politely asked her not to do that.

John C.
