Carole, no dumb questions, just dumb answers.
You can have no carb shacks if you feel hungry between the two hours.
I woudl wait to have the peach until after the two hour test and then
test two hours after the peach. You need to know how peaches affect your
bgs. Tea, coffee, diet soda they all work for me, There isnt a time
when there isnt something I am drinking.
turkey and cheese could be a good snack as the protein will keep you
fill without it upping your blood sugar. You dont have to starve.
Maybe you arent eating enough at your meals.

Thanks, Loretta :-)
Actually, I just started on a new food plan about a month ago. I'm staying on 1200 calories a day. I do get full when I eat now, which is a change from before. I'm also exercising every other day (swimming) and walking on the days I don't swim.
It's really down to habits that I'm working with. My doctor said it was OK for me to save a fruit for night time as I used to do most of my eating at night in front of the TV. But turkey would be good too :) I have a problem with cheese as it's one of those foods that I just can't eat a little of.
I'm doing MUCH better now than when I first started, and last night I waited to have my fruit till after I'd taken my bg. The endocrinologist looked at my food journal the other day and said that if I can keep to the way I've been eating for the past 4 weeks, I'll be fine and I won't have to go on meds. I'm hoping so as I already take 5 prescriptions a day for congestive heart failure. So we'll see :)
