Nixi, I do know rather a lot about herbs, both good and bad.   There
is actually a newsgroup devoted to the study of herbal medicine, and I
learned a lot there besides having some pretty serious books about it.
I tried EVERY herbal and natural product that is supposed to help
diabetics. My advice to you is to stick to the real meds.   Diabetes
is a complicated illness and herbs just don't help.   Watching your
carb intake, testing regularly, exercising, and taking your real meds,
are your best bets.

Thank you for your well-meant advice to stay away from diabetes herbs,
Evelyn. I gather from your post that you are very well educated in
herbal matters, not only via books but also through practical
experience.

Being a newbie and not even having been prescribed a diabetes med as
yet, I thought I might be able to decrease and/or control my BG with
G.S, However, not knowing the effects of this herb, I now deem it wise
to just continue my low-carb diet/exercise regimen, thanks to your
advice. Time will tell if my attempts will prove to be successful. At
any rate, I will keep close to my meter and keep making corrections to
my diet according to my readings.
