Julie, the situation here make it impossible to do the needed

We have about a dozen local cases of underage
inducements. We have dozen of underage pregnancies
of very young girls. When they are asked why
most will indicate the internet was the enticement
that led to problems.
Gee, I don't know who started this post but since it has my name in it, I
shall reply. I don't think I saw the original post or something.
I am 48 years old. When I was in Jr. High, ages 12, 13 and 14, plenty of
girls had to leave school because they were pregnant. We didn't have the
Internet in those days.
Went to high school and the best we had were electric typewriters. We did
get a computer in the office by the end of my Sr. year. Still more girls
got pregnant. In those days, girls weren't allowed to stay in school if
pregnant and could not be in school if the school knew they were married.
I know of one girl in my typing class who was not only married but had a
child. She tried to finish out Sr. year but exhaustion took over and that
never happened.
Somehow I don't think the Internet can be blamed for today's pregnancies.
Nope. I'm sure I could tell you how it happens, but I won't. Since
people of any age can post and read here. There are websites though that
will explain it if you really need an explanation.
Go to the use net and see over half of the groups
are undesirable type. *** always attracts
flies,
I don't know that they are undesirable. But more than half are of no
interest to me. So I don't go there. I do know plenty of people who go
to binary groups that don't appeal to me. That doesn't mean I think those
groups are undesirable.
The recent election showed that many are
fed up with some of our antisocial actions.
Not sure what you mean by that.
One approach discussed is to shut down some
internet functions and regroup from what has
been learned.
Huh?
Again, huh?
*** heads seem to think this cannot happen.
They also have other misconceptions.
The attendance of groups opposed to an
uncontrolled society is increasing.
Um... Third huh?
The issue of sexual anarchy is becoming more
important. The attitude of the US is changing.
Sexual anarchy? I am not sure what that is. And why are we talking sex
in a diabetes newsgroup?
The problems for the crazies is in the long term
is they self destruct. Most are all mouth trying
to exploit others.
Not all crazy people self destruct. And I don't think it's really all
that nice to refer to them as crazy. Mentally ill might be a better term.
And wouldn't it be nice if they really DID all self destruct? Then nobody
would have to deal with them. But that isn't the case. There are plenty
of mentally ill people in this world who are on meds and/or in counseling
and are functioning people. You may even see some when you go about your
day to day business and not even know it.
Then there are those for whom meds or counseling fails. Or they won't
take their meds, or for whatever reason, things go acropper. They can be
trouble makers, for themselves or for others. Is it their fault? I don't
know. Should be sit in judgement? Probably not. I did take a psych
course in college and my mom was a lay counselor. But I don't feel
qualified to do much in that regard.
Julie, there is no profit in being a soundboard
for the disturbed. I need the group much less
that a lot of people here.
I didn't say that there was. And again, I think you are confused. I have
NO clue what you are talking about but you seem to fit the description of
those you described above. Or you are losing your memory or confusing me
with someone else, or... I have no clue. Seriously no clue what you are
talking about or why you are directing your comments to me.
There are a lot of problems with the internet.
Identify theft is a biggie and the losses to business
will be the thing that breaks the system. Fixes
are hacked before they can be installed.
What does this have to do with anything germaine to this newgroup? My
house was robbed and more recently somebody got my debit card number and
attempted to purchase a laptop computer with it. Did the Internet have
anything to do with either of those things? I don't know. I don't care.
I took care of the problem as best I could. And I realized that I was not
alone with such problems. Sitting around whining about it isn't going to
solve anything. I prefer to be proactive.
That is one of many reasons there is great concern
by the people that can pass laws and have the clout to
enforce them.
Not sure what that pertains to either. *Moves on to next post quickly,
shaking head and hoping to clear out the cobwebs*
