Very nice article. Thanks for the post.
Though, on reflection, the idea that type-2 DM exerts much selection
pressure seems hard to believe, as it mostly afflicts those beyond the age
of parenting.

My mother in law advised my wife to look at my parents health 35 years
ago. Marriage due to genetic concerns was rare but I sort of see it
showing up as an issue these days. . Diabetes and heart disease used to
be hard to perceive in potential in-laws when one married under 25.
These days with marriages coming latter the parents are getting a chance
to show our flaws.
Darwinism in our time due to social economical constraints.
