Defending the medical profession is very OT here. In any case we need
to be factual. Candid conversation with people from many parts
of the worlds does not support the claims of america's greatness.

The millions pouring over and under our borders speak of America's
greatness. We're not perfect by any means, but I'm mighty damn proud
to be an American.

As are most of us Bessie, but that certainly does not mean there are a
lot of things that need to be repaired. Our medical industry are one
of those most urgent that must be fixed before only the wealthy can
afford good medical care.

I most certainly don't disagree that there are lots of things that
should be changed for the better. At the same time I'm sick of
hearing all the negative bashing. We, as a country, state, city,
town, township, neighborhood, home, can address necessary change and
make it happen without all the negative finger pointing.

Where are you hearing the negative finger pointing coming from? If it
is from fellow Americans it is well deserved considering what the
Bush/Cheney/Rove triad have been doing to this country.

Change is a
necessary part of progress. We learn from our mistakes, I hope.

I'll be one of the first to say our medical industry needs changed
because I and my husband have several ongoing medical concerns and
don't have the financial means to pay for it all, even though we both
have full coverage insurance.

You do know, don't you, that insurance can be canceled at any time
even if you belong to a group. Last year I was approved by our
insurance company for injection to help with my psoriasis. The
insurance company decided it should be put under the major medical
clauses. That would have meant that I would have to pay the first $500
and then $100 per month until I had paid $1200 out of pocket. Then I
would have been forced to do it again starting every January. That
made it cost prohibitive for us to pay for so I could not get the
treatments.

<snip>

The financial part of the medical field won't be changed as long as
most people just sit around and bitch about it.

How about bitching to our elected officials, especially Senators and
Representatives? After all they are the ones who make the laws. Of
course so long as Bush in office any moves in that direction would be
vetoed immediately.

I do what I can by
asking questions, reviewing all charges, and by making my physicians
know my wallet isn't a bottomless pit and any and all services must be
balanced against what I can or cannot afford. Every single one of my
phsycians seems surprised by my frank discussion of finances, but ALL
have welcomed my questions and have worked with me to make sure I get
what I need without throwing in any "just in case" tests, etc. So far
so good.

We do the same things plus we insist that wherever a generic
prescription may be used to replace a name brand one, it is.

Americans killed in the occupation of Iraq as of June 29, 2007 is 3,578.
United Kingdom = 156 Other = 128.

How many more Americans must die to satisfy Bush's ego?
Let us all pray for Bush - God knows he needs it!

As of July 01, 2007 it has been 1523 days since Bush
while standing in front of the banner which was sent
to the ship by the White House saying MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
declared,"In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our
allies have prevailed." IOW MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Isn't Bush's "surge" of troops working well?
Pay attention to the frequency of American deaths since it began.
