I am actually worried this is
not hunger but something else which feels like hunger.
Aha! Could be a food allergy. I have food allergies and I don't seem to
have this symptom but my daughter does. Before she was diagnosed she
thought she was hungry all the time. I can remember her throwing her fork
down in tears in the middle of dinner and begging me for a snack because she
was hungry! I couldn't understand it. Now I do. I think she had the food
allergies from birth. She knew she could feel something in her stomach.
And that's usually one of two things. You either have to go to the bathroom
or you are hungry. At least that's what people kept telling her. She
rarely complained of stomach pain because I don't think she knew what
stomach pain was. The few times she did complain of stomach pain, it wasn't
her stomach at all, but a bladder infection.
Now that we know of the allergens, her reactions to them are much different.
And they vary, depending on the food. Not all of the foods cause stomach
problems. But all it takes for her is to eat a speck of something she is
allergic to and she is hungry all the time! She also gets hungry when she
is having a growth spurt but I doubt that is the case with you.
I'll consider myself very lucky if this is a food allergy, but I've
eaten nothing recently which I don't have a long history of eating
previously. The only real changes to my diet since getting my pre-
diabetes notice was the removal of certain foods (nothing "new" added).
Certainly not a growth spurt unless I'm still growin at 46. :-)
I don't see much in the way of carbs in that list although I think mangoes
are pretty carby. Not sure since I don't eat them. You might need to
increase the carbs just a bit and eat more fat.
Yeah, I suppose I do have a low carb diet since my doctor said to cut
the sugar. Probably not as bad as an Atkins diet though. I do also eat
rice fairly often. I'll have to revisit my "good carbs" list...
