Sitting on your fat *** 24/7 monitoring and posting to a diabetes

nothing with being active.

<google google>

Wow! I see what you mean! 1580postings to asd in the last year by the
Kurt nym alone!

[snip]

Not much time left for non-digital exercise,
All the time in the world compared to the 13154 postingsyouhave
polluted usenet with.

You do realise you have to divide that number by the number of years
newsgroups have existed? Of course you don't.

You really ought to see a professional about this problem of spaces
disappearing in your quotes when you dribble on the keyboard. There's
only one space left in those lines, which is dangerously close to the
point when the raised intracranial pressure will cause you a serious
pain in the ass.

That from the Idiots Guide on how to deal with folks who show you the
error of your ways?

Nearly right -- it's from the Guide to Internet Idiots :-)

By the way, I do appreciate people who edit their responses to trim
out stuff not relevant to the thread in question, but I think it's
being a bit overenthusiastic when you leave in responses to your posts
but scissor out your own post that they're replying to. Makes it hard
for people to follow the argument if you do that. So I've put back the
reply of yours you snipped below.

Youdorealiseyouhavetodividethatnumberby thenumberofyears

You really ought to see a professional about this problem of spaces
disappearing in your quotes when you dribble on the keyboard.

See how my response, which you left in, makes so much more sense now?

Correct, because the issue is YOU badmouthing Kurt's posting
frequency.

You've lost the thread of this argument. This started with you
criticising Alan for how much he posts, and as usual drawing
conclusions about his personality and BG control from the amount of
posting he does.

Talking about losing the thread. I have neither replied to nor even
mentioned your buddy Alan in this thread.

My apologies. You've made so many complaints about Alan's excessive
posting I forgot that this time for a change you were complaining
about Ozgirl's excessive posting.

I simply pointed out that Kurt posts a lot as well,
so either your ad hominem sneers at Alan are groundless, or they apply
to Kurt too. *That's* the issue!

It sure is. AS SOON AS you can show where and when I "started *this*
with criticizing Alan for how much he posts".

Your lack of logic is showing again, since the logic of my argument
doesn't depend on which of the two you happened to be criticising. It
works equally well for either or both.

As usual your focus on personal tit for tattery blinds you to logic,
as it does Kurt and the others here who attack messengers instead of
discussing the message.

No, you old fool, it is you who is too ignorant to *know* that there's
more to life than logic. As in medicine is not just a science, but an
art too. But that apparently is just a wee bit too much info to fit
into that little box you exist in.

I wasn't suggesting or implying that there wasn't anything more to
life or indeed medicine than logic, Which I certainly don't believe. I
was simply pointing out there was a serious deficit of logic in your
posting. That's not the same as suggesting there's nothing more to
life than logic, as I hope you may be able to appreciate if you
think hard enough.

It doesn't matter a damn if I post ten times
as much as everyone else put together.

It may not matter to you, but to some of us normal :-) folks
compulsive
preoccupations *do* matter. After all, obsessive-compulsive behavior
may
be an indicator of psychological disorders.

Of course you can *make* it matter if you start a new argument in
which it does matter! But that's not this argument! In fact what
you've done is fall into the pit you were trying to dig for me,
because among the heroical high posters of asd is undoubtedly Kurt!
*That* was the point I was originally trying to draw to your impaired
attention, and which still seems to be passing over your head.

So you badmouthing Kurt for posting too much is - in my humble opinion
- a wee bit more than the pot calling the kettle black: it's moronic.

It would be moronic if that's what I was doing, but I don't play your
game of sneering at people whose opinions on diabetes I disagree with,

Of course not: part of the rules of *your* game is that you use
different
terminology when *you* do it.

Terminoloy is irrelevant. You're still failing to get the very simple
point that if the high posters of asd must ipso facto be suspected of
pathological obsession, then Kurt falls under suspicion as much as
Alan or me or Ozgirl.

and I don't share your assumption that posting a lot is necessarily
pathological.

Neither is the excessive use of the word *sneering*. Not necessarily.

Glad you spotted that. I was doing that to draw attention to the
excessive amount of sneering in your posts.

You're an English major
who takes great pride in your mathematical ignorance :-)

I'm beginning to wonder now if an English major can actually be as
incapable of logical argument as you are :-)

Not everyone can be a washed up university researcher able to show off
his "academic prowess" with a
bunch of scientific illiterates.

I'm washed up on the beach of retirement,

So why do you still sport your pre-retirement page at Edinburgh U as
part of your signature?

I can't understand how an intelligent chap like you who knows how to
do bit of sleuthing on the web could fail to have noticed that that is
a *post*-retirement web page! The reason I still have a university web
page is because I'm on still on the academic staff. I'm on the staff
as as a retired hon fellow. The reason I'm an hon fellow is because I
still do a bit of (unpaid) research work. It's a not uncommon
arrangement between universities and retired academics who're not yet
completely washed up. You could very easily have found all that
out. Or do I overestimate your web skills?

Couldn't be you are trying to intimidate some of the "lesser" asd folk
with your *superiority*?

It's the same old web page (updated now and then as required) as has
accompanied my newsgroup sig ever since web pages were invented, and
the reason I supply it is to make it as easy as possible for people to
check out who I am and what I do. It helps to stop people making silly
unfounded accusations against me. Unless of course like you they
either don't know how to check, can't be bothered, or don't mind
making fools of themselves.

partly through
diabetic-related ill health.

I *did* notice the little Freudian slip in your signature.

It's not a Freudian slip, it's both a misdirection for newsgroup email
address harvesters and a deliberate quarrel I have with the label of
"informatics" which my dept adopted several years ago. As you would
very easily have found out if you'd bothered to read the web page you
found in my sig.

Why don't you write a book: "From Informatics to Infirmatics" would be
a cool title. Go ahead, it's ok to plagiarize me in this case.

What an oaf you are! Offering to let me plagiarise "your" neat idea,
when if you'd bothered to check you would have found it was not only
my idea but several years old to boot!

I post here because I'm collaborating
with others here in learning more about our diabetes.

Among your peers at last!

Yes, because not all of them are as uneducated and incompetent as you.
