i find it very interesting that Kurt feels he should comment on something

Kurt, the negative for taking hormones is breast cancer. I dont think
any woman should take HRT and that is just my opinion

There are less cases of breast cancer now that woman have stopped HRT.

I dont believe the risks outweigh the benefits.

My breast cancer was hormone receptive and hence I had to take anti
hormone tamoxifen for five years.

I dont have any of the problems mentioned in the article.

The risk of cancer is never worth any potential benefits of any kind.

Never is too absolute a word in this context. See bj's
response. Risk is relative and must be weighed in individual
cases. We have several people posting here who have no
"right answers" in their conflicting medical needs, only
paths of least risk or most efficacious treatment.

What is critical is receiving fully informed and current
medical advice that can weigh up ALL of the known (and
sometimes suspected) risk factors for that patient to find
the best cmpromise to meet their health needs as best they
can.

Even at a personal level we accept risks. With stuffed
gammaglobulins I know that I'm taking a major risk every
time I travel - but it's a risk I'm prepared to take.
However, I'm not silly enough to get a live virus shot so
there are some countries that just won't be on the
itinerary.
