You have always understand me. Thank you for that. :-) The doctor I am
seeing now though he told me a year ago when I wanted surgery he didn't
think anyone would want to intubate me and I would die on the table because
of my breathing and my sleep apnea he NOW says it is medically necessary.
Had he let me a year ago I would be down to where I should be by now. My
doctor has told me this last visit that I am too weak to exercise and I need
to do surgery asap. I know some think I don't try and yes sometimes I don't
but like this morning I got up with almost 400 bg and right now I sit here
and am 555 where I have never got it to come down today.
One good thing is Dale's insurance told me they would ok it and where to
send the doctor for the paper work he has to submit and also my SS said they
would too since medically necessary.
I thought about doing what you suggested. I have been trying to find someone
in my area who I can see to do it and that has a good record for them.
No Bev had the RNY which is resection and mine would be a band around the
stomach that would be able to be adjusted or even taken out. Bev's was more
serious and I know two people so far that died with that one.
Dale works with a guy that his wife is in the hospital and even went to the
Cleveland Clinic I think is where and she had the RNY which is gastric
bypass six months ago and was in a coma from infections and leaks.
Thank God Bev did not go through that.
Mine is less (invasive) I think the word is. It is done with just three
holes in the stomach and a band inserted around the stomach to make it
smaller and very little chance of infections and is reversible. The gastric
is only reversed in emergency situations.
I hope I can have it done even though I am afraid but hey if I died on the
table at least there would be no pain and I would not even know it so guess
that is a plus... :-(
If I remember correctly, this is the point you were at before everything
went crazy in your life, you disappeared here, your DH had problems, etc.,
right? Only then I think you were still considering between the gastric
bypass & the lapband insertion & you weren't sure if it would be a covered
expense. Given how much went nuts in your life, you've made huge progress!
You've decided to only consider the lapband & you've found out that it would
be paid for by insurance/s, etc. as a necessary medical condition.
Fantastic! Way to go. So, do you live somewhere known for lots of doctors to
choose from?
