Yes. Recently.
The real poll you should have started if you wanted to follow up on my
"excellent question" would go like this:
1. Have you ever looked at all the www.alt.support-diabetes.org?
Not at all.
2. Were you alarmed that it did not contain any professional links on
it?
Of course not. But that only applies to medical advice. I
3. Do you think it's wise for a newbie to follow amateur advice over
that of a professional medical person?
don't recall seeing any medical advice on that web-site. As
that is a loaded question, please quote the medical advice
being referred to.
Actually, I usually ask first if this information isn't in
4. What's the first thing you tell someone when they tell you they
have been diagnosed with diabetes?
the intro:
What type of diabetes have you been diagnosed with?
What did your doctor say and prescribe?
What other specialists have you seen?
What other afflictions do you have?
Then, depending on the info given, any or all of:
Listen to your doctor and ask a lot of questions. If you
aren't seeing an endo who specializes in diabetes ask your
doctor to refer you to one if it appears to be needed at
your stage of progression.
Ask for referrals to:
a heart specialist
an ophthalmologist
a podiatrist
and any others your doctor considers necessary.
Subscribe to internet support groups such as those listed
here

and ask lots of questions of the people on those groups. If
you are in any doubt about applying information you receive
make sure you discuss it with your doctor first. Also
purchase or borrow the books listed on that link and read
them. Ask your doctor and the people on the support groups
about he information you get from the books.
There's more of course, but that's a start.
5. Any other comments?Your doctors are professionals and everything medical or
with medical implications should be discussed with them. If
they are not meeting your need, find new doctors. However
you can help yourself enormously by supplementing that
professional treatment by reading the experiences of people
who have been where you are, and have been where you are
headed; that is an invaluable additional resource for you to
use.
Absolutely. It's a clear demonstration of his need as a

another example of his problem with control issues?
retired guy to act immature and has nothing to do with the
fact that the subject has changed to "A Poll on Test, Test,
Test" and that the previous thread title was no longer
relevant.
