Impaired fasting glucose? & Hyperinsulinemia?

Hi,
My daughter had fasting blood work done at 8 am recently and her
Calculated mean glucose was 126.
Her Insulin was 27 (0-16)
He Insulin levels have been this high for over a year now. Last year at this
time it was also a 27.(<17)
However her glucose was 93 at this time last year.
Are these numbers really bad? Her primary care Dr. just seemed to shrug them
off. He wasn't overly concerned.
She also suffers from Autoimmune Thyroiditis and is being treated for this
with Armour Thyroid by her pcp.
She has had low/normal blood cortisol levels as well.
We are seeing and Endocrinologist on the 19th and I was wondering what I
should expect as far testing and treatment for the high Glucose and Insulin
results are. Will there be any treatment at all?
Also, I have a brother aged 36 who was dx with diabetes type 1 at the age of
18 and a maternal Uncle who had type 1 as well. Is it possible that she will
develop type 1?
My daughter is 7 years of age. At her highest weight she was 86 lbs early
spring of 2006. Now she is 77 lbs. I have been trying like heck to change
her diet but it is so hard. I know I need to cut out those bad simple carbs
and try to stick with a low GI diet. She did loose 12 lbs since last winter
but she was also sick alot. Right now she seems to be gaining again.
Thanks : )
Michelle
