I use an Ascensia contour meter. Even though it needs only a tiny
sample, I find most times I try to test my sugar, despite setting the
lancet for maximum depth, I only get a teeny drop of blood which is
not large enough to trigger the meter. (I'll get the "E2 - not enough
blood" error.)
So, I squeeze my finger tip to get a larger drop of blood. (I have
tried the other techniques suggested in the manual, such as running my
hand down my arm, swinging my hand in a circle, etc.) My concern is I
am getting larger readings than I should get as a result. I have
noticed on the occasions when I lance, and a large enough drop forms
immediately, that I get substantially lower readings.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Kevin
I use to get those readings now & then on my Ascensia Breeze(thick calloused
hands). Are you lancing on the sides of your finger or the pads? Have you
tried washing your hands first(warn water)? Are you using the Microlet? if
so, are you pushing down when lancing ? Have you called Bayer support?
When I was having problems with E2, it ended up being operator error, I
wasn't pushing down hard enough with my lancing device.
