I like this use of the word for obesity - pandemic.
I was just wondering would it have been a pandemic if the medical community had not lowered the weight scales? Is it a pandemic so the medical and pharmaceutical companies can now profess another reason to prescribe medications for high dollar?
I am only guessing the reason for most of the deaths in Europe and the early years of the US was due to the "obesity pandemic" as the pictures by the great painters showed some really "pandemic" challenged people.
I do not make light of the obesity problem as I am one of the number, but I do wonder about why it is all of a sudden an issue.
