Doctor just told my friend that his type 2 was caused by severe infection.

My friend was just told by his doctor, a well respected doctor in town,
that his type 2 diabetes was caused by a severe infection he got 2 years
ago after shooting himself in the thigh with a nailing gun. No mention
of his weight, even though he is about 40-50 pounds overweight. I had a
very severe bout of tonsillitis before diagnosis, running high temps,
having my throat lanced, etc., so from now on, if anyone asks, that's
how I got my diabetes. ;-)
