That's the reason I remembered that article. It is one of the best studies showing what a poor screening test the FPG is.
BTW, just today I got a "birthday card" from my health insurer reminding me that everyone over 50 should have a FPG test once every 3 years to make sure they don't have diabetes. <sigh>
