Our big problem with diets is that we do not have any answers

about we really know is that the human has survived on the
foods available. The question is-----is an optimum thing.

Developing a strong opinion without the whole story
is not good.

very good point.. problem is some develop a very strong opinion with far
from
the whole story.

Since we do not know,, let each person do what they want.

i agree to a certain point.
i think for most cases it might be better to look at it like.

Since we do not know the newbie - how can we know what would be best.
of course there are those things like smoking and being lazy that we all
know are not good for anyone.
but what if a drug user is using smoking to help avoid using hard drugs
again? just an example of how
"we really dont know"

What's funny is that this thread illustrates what happens in here time
and time again. I posted a great link to the ADA site that contains a
number of important and thought provoking diabetes news updates and it
was ignored by most. That is an underlying problem here, people have
their preconceived ideas and prejudices about the ADA and nothing will
change that. It's as if no good can come from the major diabetes
organization. Sad. The constant charge that the ADA is not up to date
by some in here has more to do with the fact that they know nothing
about the ADA and/or they choose to misrepresent it because then it is
easier to push their own agenda against the evil empire.

I encourage people to put their hatred aside and spend some time
reading the articles. They might learn something.

Best,
Kurt
