G'day G'day,
Please let me know when you have read the article.

Until you have read the article we are wasting time discussing your
misconceptions.
But, I still don't see how something like fish oil can reduce cholesterol,
and also reduce pain. Fish oil did nothing to reduce my cholesterol.
It took a statin to do that.
One would expect fish oil, which is an excellent source of the two
essential omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA to have many effects.
However, as far as I know, fish oil doesn't reduce cholesterol.
The only connection I can see between fish oil and cholesterol is to
triglycerides. It is well established that fish oil reduces
triglycerides so improves the triglyceride:HDL ratio. That is
important for T2 diabetics.
Some people believe fish oil stabilises heart rhythms.
I don't, though I believe the vegetable omega-3 oils do.
Statins are very effective at reducing cholesterol. The reduction of
cholesterol isn't the only way they work. Put simply, they reduce the
incidence of heart attacks more than can be accounted for by their
ability to reduce cholesterol.
All forms of pain reducing meds take their toll on the human body. Some
are so potent, like steroid based meds, you can become addicted to
them.
I don't know of s single person who has become addicted to fish oil.
I have to watch the meds I take since diabetes and a screwed up
back is wracking my body everyday.
No one really knows how much pain someone else is going through. I
spent about ten day in a hospice for the terminally ill while they
worked out what pain meds to give me for the fractured vertebrae. That
doesn't mean I understand the pain you have been experiencing. You
have been managing with OTC meds while I had three or four doctors
reviewing my case working out the best combination of meds. Some were
for bone pain, some for pinched nerve pain, some for swelling of the
bone marrow that has made the bones crack from the pressure inside
them. We all face different trials and tribulations. Personally I
think you would be better off if you could seek some professional help
in dealing with the pain. However that is just my opinion and you have
to live with your decisions.
Best wishes,
