Re: Puzzled (and not sure if I can trust the meter either)

Nope, no secondary meter, unfortunately. I'm thinking of buying one to
check.

The 2 hr PPs last week (during that lovely 80's work) were around
85-90.
This weekend and today they are consistently 105ish. No change in the
meals, everything has been meat, veg, and salad for months now.

I've been eating to keep them dead flat and as low as possible - my
Grand Plan (foolish as it may be but I HAVE to try) is to keep my
pancreas as quiescent as possible so that if it can repair itself it
has a chance to.

I quite honestly don't want anything over 100, not even at a half hour
PP. I'm willing to do what it takes (mostly an extremely restrictive
diet) to keep it there, at least for now.

If someday I find that this has made no difference, then I'll loosen up
and shoot for the 140/120 that most of you guys do.
But since I'm likely not all the way T2 yet I want to see if I can
reverse this
and other than stopping eating entirely (not an option) the only other
option is eating to cause as little insulin secretion and blood sugar
rise as possible (as well as exercise and weight loss but I'm already
doing that too). Ergo the meat/salad/non-starchy veg diet.

I'm 42, young for menopause in my family but well within normal range.

I've been wondering if my insulin resistance was more a factor in
stopping the periods than menopause. And now with the big weight loss
(I'm down 45 lbs since Valentines Day) that may also be screwing them
up.

IMHO, I don't care if it ever comes back, as long as losing them
doesn't screw up my body even worse.

Usually a sure way to induce a period is to wear white pants ;) .
