Yeah. Since DX, I've been spending a bit of time getting effectively a
moderate-carb, test,test,test message into magazines - I've had 3
articles so far. I reckon that, if that's the most likely channel for
people to get diabetes education, I want it to be workable : )
Nicky.
Nicky, may I ask which magazines (you can send a personal email to this
address)? I've been working on an article about RVing as a way for DMs to
travel and experience North America while maintaining the ability to
manage their diet, store their insulins, etc. I'm about ready to send some
querry letters and the ones that published your work sound like they might
be receptive.
Unfortunately I live in the UK : ( Best and Prima mags may be
international?
Sounds a really good set of ideas, though, with lots of niche markets. I
assume that both RV and lifestyle mags would be worth approaching.
In the US, how about the AARP magazine? RVing sounds to me like
something most people couldn't do until they retire.

Actually it's a great way to travel with youngsters. A lot easier than
motels and a way to provide them with better nutrition than fast food
stops. Our kids learned geography and history by acrually being there.
The current price of fuel is not a happy thing foa any kind of traveler.
We've been RVers for decades including a 9 year stint we've just
completed as fulltime RVers. We had no physical home other than the RV
and we just traveled around North America staying here and there,
enjoying the scenery and meeting some of the finest people in the world.
We gave up the wandering life last spring for a permanent home, but we
still intend to travel in our motorhome. We have a long trip planned for
this summer.
If anyone would like some information on RVing, please feel free to
email me or ask here. I'll be glad to help.
I envy you - we did it every Christmas in Mum's RV for a
couple of months. However, it's a very small one (17') and
it became a bit cramped. My preference, some years earlier,
was a caravan (trailer) which also let us park the caravan
and use the car for local trips in the area.
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.
