Bit of a rant:
Bowled today in the senior league. One fellow has DM. Way over-weight with
a big tummy that my folks used to call a "corporation." He had no clue as
to what an A1C test was. He only saw his dotor once a year (GP). He tested
twice a day, before meals, and his "average" sugars were 146. His doctor
said: "that's not a problem, it only becomes a problem when they are over
150".
You know what's really sad? - He's interested in what's going on, he's asked
questions, he's prepared to do the testing and modify his behaviour - and
yet his diabetes care providers have let him down so badly. Poor guy.
Nicky.
