Hi-
I just wanted to let you know that currently the treatment guidelines
for patients with Type II Diabetes who are on oral medications is to
test their blood glucose once daily. The reason for this is that when
you are on oral medication, unlike insulin, your blood glucose will
remain at similar fasting glucose levels through out the day.

Hi Alex
Well, you're either a supreme troll who has hit the perfect
trigger to get a reaction from this group, or a very scary
indicator of the graduating class of 2008.
BTW, sadly, you're quite right that those are the guidelines
in many places. There are several here who will confirm
that. There are a lot more in the ground, or on dialysis, or
sitting in wheelchairs, or walking behind guide dogs who are
testament to the effectiveness of those guidelines.
The others have answered better than I could. I certainly
can't do better than Quentin or Jennifer. However, I'll be
charitable and presume that you are actually here because
you believe that you are a diabetic, not a troll. If that is
the case, you are able to test your mantra for yourself.
So do it. Just to prove yourself right, do it today. Eat
normally, the same as you ate yesterday. Test your blood
glucose every hour, on the hour.
See what results you get. Post them here.
If they confirm your hypothesis - then you aren't a
diabetic. Simple as that.
Let us know what you ate and what the results are:-)
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.
