Wow, that certainly is a lot to deal with, Quentin. You did a very
good job of concealing this because nowhere in your posts was there a
hint of negativity, bitterness, or hatred that might be justifiable in
your situation. Your support of others is an example for us all.
G'day G'day Kurt,
Thank you. Things happen. Some of them are unpleasant. I never
expected the lottery of life to spin me what it did. Never the less
it did. One of the things I learnt being on asd is that we have live
with what life deals us. Many, many people have supported me and
continue to do so. Most of them you will never have met and are
unlikely to meet. The students I teach have done much to keep me
alive. Just this week I told a student that it was students that had
kept me alive. There was a night when I wondered why I bothered to
learn more since I would soon be dead. Well I did for about thirty
seconds. Then I thought well here was a test for accelerated
learning. One day a student asked me for help in a subject I had
never taught. That was a Wednesday. I had an appointment with them on
Friday. In three days I cracked their course by reverse engineering
from the previous years multiple choice questions. Funny how when you
have a sense of shortness of time to learn things one is driven to put
everything one knows into practice to make it happen.
Sorry if I rambled a bit. The point is that every challenge brings
with an opportunity to make new discoveries. It is a matter of choice.
With your positive attitude and totally unselfish outlook I have no doubt
that you have the best chance of anyone to beat the odds.
Well here's hoping. At the moment I'm not paying the odds too much
mind. I'm having a ball, living life like the living was actually the
important part.
Best,
Kurt
And best wishes to you too. BTW. I've watched you do some
magnificent things here recently and know asd is in good hands.
