"Need each other"? I disagree, Kurt. This is the most dysfunctional
forum or NG that I read regularly. Usenet at it's worst.
If any of that has any truth to it that is simply because Dave has
done everything he could to make it that way. He was same asinine
slime when he went by BarAreaDave, so why should any of us be
surprised by his reprehensible behavior toward RD, Diana or anyone
else he perceives as someone he can intimidate.
There was a contingent of brain dead idiots that were convinced that
Mary (my wife) and I were one and the same. No matter that we post with
different writing styles.
And Mary never disagreed with Dave even in small amounts. How many
married couples are like that unless one is so dominant that the other
doesn't really have any independent thoughts?
In any event, this is not the place to come to expect camaraderie.
Sure, it would great, but it's not gonna happen. With the types of
personalities here, there will never be enough caring, restraint, and
decency for the hostilities to stop. You might a few hours here and
there where all the posts are on topic, but it takes just a few
outlandish posts from RK, Mack, HiTherre, Grumpy Chuck, et al to begin a
new round of acrimony.
Hmm. Dave accuses me and the others of doing what he has done oh so
many times. The easiest way to avoid facing your own shortcomings is
to concentrate on those same faults when you think you see them in
others.
If I had perfect recall, I'd mention all the
other names of those who makes this NG a mine field.
If he really doesn't like us why doesn't he do himself and the rest of
us a huge favor by unsubscribing? I can answer that one. He enjoys all
the attention he gets regardless of its nature.
