Re: OT - anyone here work with video editing software?

I capture digital video through the 1394 interface. I have a Canon Optura
600 Digital Camcorder. I also have a ton of DV tapes I took with my previous
camcorder.

I have just started organizing and editing the video clips. I like virtual
dub because it is so simple to use. Its biggest limitation is that it will
only save avi files. I save the projects uncompressed, it makes big files
but I have a total of 1.1 TB hard drive space in the computer.

If I ever get serious with these projects I will use Adobe Premier pro. I've
used a little but not enough to be good at it. Now I use Nero 7 capture to
import the videos, virtualdub to compile/edit and Nero to make the menus and
burn the DVD. So far I get good results. The DVD's play on all standalone
players I have tried them on.

they are good programs for making simple edits and adding text to digital
video.
also for converting video recorded in other formats to the format that is
needed.
something tells me anon is capturing his taped video to digital.
