Karen, you will never get it. People think they are invincible even if
the person right next to them has no arms and is connected to a dialysis
machine. Until they get hit with you are very sick, will they try to
adhere to some program.
Your words are falling on deaf ears. The only person you can control is
yours. I am glad to hear you are in panic mode over 119 which isnt an
official diagnosis.
Your family is grossly overweight and inactive and if they dont help
themselves, they will pay the consequences of their actions. I know how
bad you will feel about that but you cant control what is not in your
control.
You might have some influence over your mother, but if she is with
relatives who says it is not too bad and arent making sure she is taking
her meds, perhaps she needs to be taken care of by someone more
proactive if that can be arranged. The people she is living with are
not extending her life or the quality of her life imo and she needs out
of there. Of course I dont know your story and I dont know your
finances or capabilities. Perhaps there is some help you can get
somewhere. Your mother needs better care.
You are not in denial so that is good. You will do the right thing by
your mother.
